BMW Power for North America

The BMW Z4 GTLM for the United Sportscar Championship.

The BMW Z4 GTLM goes into his second season in the United Sportscar Championship and in his third year in North America. Under the designation BMW Z4 GTE enters the vehicle in 2015 for the first time also in the European Le Mans Series.

2013 celebrated the vehicle right away with two wins in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and ensured that BMW Motorsport and BMW Team RLL occupied second place in the GT driver, team and manufacturers' standings. 2014 drove the BMW Z4 GTLM six times on the podium.

In July 2012, the engineers at BMW Motorsport in Munich had begun to develop on the basis of the BMW Z4 GT3 a GTE version by ACO regulations. The resulting vehicle was much more compact than its successful predecessor in the ALMS, the BMW M3 GT.

In the second half of January 2013, the BMW Z4 GTE finally saw its first test run on the track. Throughout the development period, the BMW Team RLL was involved in the work processes. The engineers from the United States for some time attracted to Germany to participate in the construction of the BMW Z4 GTE.

From the beginning of 2013 she worked at BMW Motorsport until the first test hand in hand with their colleagues in Munich. So it was possible to bring together since 2009 in the ALMS accumulated experience and to incorporate them into the car. Due to the renaming of the vehicles for the USCC, the model has been operating since 2014 under the name BMW Z4 GTLM.
