Geneva Motor Show 2015 : McLaren 675LT


McLaren and Ferrari have struggled out on the road and circuit racing since the 1960s, so when Ferrari revealed the 458 Speciale rapid heralded as the best supercar in 2014, McLaren knew they had to do something spectacular to overcome the various obstacles that.

At the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 they revealed their reply - 675LT. Based on the 650S, which 675LT use something very special as inspiration - LT (Long Tail), a tribute to F1 1997 Longtail used to homologate the racing car of the same name. On the front of the 675LT has the same general appearance as the 650S, but with a front splitter arrangement longer and have aggressively in carbon fiber, and a new wing section ahead of the front wheels. It is 35mm longer than the standard model 50% larger and overalls when working as Airbrake. A new set of enabling lightweight alloys complete the look.

Under the new engine cover sits a heavier version of the 650S 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 666 bhp and 516 lb / ft of torque. Combine this with the 100 kg body weight reduction of the use of carbon fiber and the extra if exceptional performance statistics. 0-62 mph takes 2.9 seconds and 0-124 mph in 7.9 seconds discussed. The highest speed drops 2 mph to 205 mph even though there are additional barriers from the aero setup.

The 675LT limited to 500 units and go on sale at the Geneva event for £ 259,500 but all 500 have been sold.
